The Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas is the most famous bullring in Spain and is located in the eastern part of Madrid, a short metro ride from the city centre. Located in the Guindalera neighbourhood in the posh district of Salamanca, it was first inaugurated on June 17, 1931. It seats 25,000 and is where the crème de la crème of bullfighting come to compete and gain prestige and status in this very Spanish spectacle. The building is a Neo-Mudéjar style (Moorish) with pottery details. The price of the seats depends upon how close they are to the central arena and whether they are in the sun or the shade. The bullfighting season starts in March and ends in December and bullfights are held every day at Las Ventas during the festival of San Isidro Fiesta. Bullfights start at 6 or 7pm and last for two to three hours, consisting of 3 toreros and 6 bulls.
