A 2-star Hostal Cervantes has tastefully decorated, immaculate rooms with en suite bathroom, heating and television on the animated Huertas Street full of bars, tapas bars and close to the major clubs of Madrid. Bordering the hip Lavapies area and the wild nightlife of Plaza Santa Ana, it’s a fantastic location to see these two sides of the city. Walk down to the beautiful Atocha train station and either head down the Paseo del Prado to the famous Prado museum and Botanical Gardens, or go up to the Retiro Park a short walk up a street which is lined with book stalls on Sundays for your perusal, pick up a used book on how to make easy tapas. The Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor are also a short walk through charming narrow streets. In the afternoon and at night the Lavapies area has great outdoor cafes, like Automatico on C/Argumosa and the fantastic Bar Barbieri with loads of character on C/Ave Maria.
The Hostel is right in the middle of great places to visit. Within 10 minutes walking distance from the Hostel, you will find the museums Del Prado, Thyssen Bornemisza and Reina Sofía, as well as the botanic gardens. Atocha train station, Antón Martín metro station, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol are also very close, just a 10 minute walk.
