The 2 star Hostal Sonsoles is located in the centre of Madrid in the exciting Chueca area of the city near Puerta del Sol and many other sites that Madrid has to offer. From here you can either hop on the convenient metro, just 150 metres from the building or set off on foot to see the sites. From here you can visit the elegant Plaza de Cibeles and the enormous Retiro Park just beyond, the perfect place for a Sunday stroll and people-watching. Puerta del sol, Plaza Mayor, Royal Palace and Opera are also near the apartment. The Chueca neighbourhood is a great place to stay for those who want a chic area which is also gay friendly. There are beautiful squares in this area where you can take in a little sun on a hot summer afternoon in one of the outdoor cafes there. There are plenty of boutiques and straight and gay bars and restaurants in the area.
The hotel itself is very simple and a little old-fashioned in its style. The lobby is somewhat kitsch, but the rooms are very clean and well-maintained.
