The 2 star Hostal Florida is a cheap and cheerful budget lodging with a perfect location to make the most of your stay to Madrid, close to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Reina Sofia Museum. Walking distance to many of the sites, it is especially close to the Rastro flea market, an absolute must see and the place to visit on Sunday mornings. The hotel is near the popular area of bohemian Lavapies which is well known among hipsters. Candela (on Calle del Olmo 2) is a popular flamenco bar which is occasionally frequented by famous dancers. La Latina is also right around the corner and is a great place to go hunting for tapas. This cheerful hotel has a cosy family feel to it and the owners want their guests to feel right at home. Solo traveller
It did everything it said it would do in the description. The staff were awaiting on my arrival with my keys, it was clean and cleaned daily with fresh towels. Location was central. It was a late booking; by preference I'd have picked a hostel with a kitchen and/or public room. I didn't see the staff or any other visitors while I was there.Translate this guest review

Solo traveller
Séjour de 5 jours dans cet hôtel très bien placé.Chambre correcte literie bonne, petite salle de bain mais suffisante. Serviettes propres tous les jours. Propriétaires gentils et possibilité de laisser les valises en consigne le jour du départ. On avait une chambre côté cour ce qui nous a éviter le bruit extérieur de la rue. Malheureusement, la porte palière étant très lourde les gens ne prennent pas la peine de la retenir et de ce fait un claquement qui résonnait dans notre chambre, sans compter les gens qui parlent fort à tout heure de la nuit. Mais une adresse à conserver et à faire partager sans aucun soucis. Si l'on devait revenir nous retournerions à cet hôtel.Translate this guest review

L'hôtel est très bien situé: 5 minutes a pied de la Plaza del Sol. Accueil sympathique. Les chambres et douches communes sont un peu anciennes mais très bien tenues. Seul point négatif: très mal insonorisé! Hôtel intéressant pour les courts séjours et pour ceux qui ne souhaitent pas être au calme!Translate this guest review
