Madrid 's local government has created the target of extending the metro lines up to a total of 90 kilometres. There are neighbourhoods and suburbs far from Madrid's city centre which are eagerly awaiting for the metro to arrive, like Villaverde, la Alameda de Osuna, San Fernando de Henares and Alcobendas.
