Warm 2-star Hostal Rubio is located smack in the centre of Madrid, just a few minutes to Puerta del Sol, and also Palacio Real and Plaza Mayor. This hostel has an excellent location between the exciting centre of the city and near the gritty charm of the Rastro flea market (Sunday mornings) and the bohemian bars of the Lavapies area. Visto il prezzo non si può chiedere di meglio. Il palazzo è vecchio ma le stanze sono rifatte. Pulito e comodo. Massima gentilezza e disponibilità. La zona poi è perfetta: in pieno centro.

The room was clean but not sufficiently ventilated then there was a permanent little "musty" smell. This problem apart, the hostel was good, well situated in the city, clean and the owner were very nice people.

A cheap solution for one who wants to stay in the hotel only for the night. It's rather clean and the owners are really kind.

Petit Hotzel sympa, les chambres sont simples mais propres. L'accueil a été très chaleureux, dommage qu'ils ne parlent ni français ni anglais, j'aurais aimé pouvoir leur demandé des infos sur la ville et les coins à voir. Un bonne adresse tout de même, bien placé en centre ville mais cependant dans une rue très calme, rare pour pour le centre ville de Mardid.
