If you want to see how the rich and famous appreciate Madrid, the stylish Apartamento Pink – Salamanca area is where you want to be. The Barrio de Salamanca is where the beautiful people go to see and be seen, not to mention to shop. This shopping district on Calle Serrano and surrounding areas has all the haute couture and high fashion you could dream of. There are graceful buildings in this area: the Italian Embassy is located in possibly the most beautiful palace of Madrid, a far cry from the sterile looking US structure. Las Ventas, the largest and most prestigious bullring in the world is located in this area, and the month of May is high season for watching bullfights (www.las-ventas.com).
