The clean, friendly, and family-run Hostal Cruz Sol has a fantastic location right in the centre near Puerta del Sol in Madrid. The hostel is wedged between two of the city’s major attractions, the Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor. Puerta del Sol is the nucleus of the city where the gatos (Madrid residents, aka the cats) meet under the clocked city hall building built during the Hapsburg reign or the statue of the bear and madroño tree, the symbol of Madrid found everywhere in the city. ...more details > The Plaza Mayor was once the site of bullfights and where inquisition sentences were handed out, but today has many outdoor cafes great for people watching (if a bit on the pricey side). The Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia Museums are walking distance or a short bus or metro ride away. Below Plaza Mayor are the famous cave bars, the fantastic Meson del Champiñones (c Cuchilleros) is one of Madrid’s oldest taverns serving the house specialty, mushrooms. La verdad es que cuando llegue me lleve muy buena impresion, en relacion calidad precio y situacion lo recomiendo, ademas desde la estacion del ave es muy facil de llegar, a 10 minutos andando |
